Coached
So I got my first training schedule from my new coach today. Heh. Coach is a guy from the ausrun forum who offered to coach beginner runners for free to develop some experience. So I put my hand up and the new schedule starts today. It will be interesting to see how it goes as I don't think that the running equation is too complicated for me at the moment - not really up to doing speedwork or complicated sesssions, more about putting in time on my feet.
Anyway, it certainly can't hurt and will be a good bit of accountability to make sure that I am pushing myself appropriately. And plus, if I don't improve fast enough, I now have someone to blame. Coolness.

Well done, I am sure brangie will take care of you, great for you to get some free coaching and great for him to get some valuable experience.
For me I find having the assistance of a coach invaluable, it takes away the guess work. I love turning up for speed work and just "doing what I am told"
Looking forward to seeing how you progress.

Please keep us informed on your progress. A coach or a personal trainer is something I have been thinking about getting for awhile.
Glad to hear you are well again.
Like you say, the coach will be good for motivation and accountability alike!
If you really want to do the Half next year, make it a firm goal, start planning now and you will definately get there! It only seems huge until you start working towards it slowly and ticking off milestones along the way, then it becomes a reality.
Go for it! You won't regret it!

Full steam ahead now. Will be interesting to hear (or read) how you develop.
